A Magical Guide to Character Dining at Walt Disney World

A Magical Guide to Character Dining at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World is a treasure trove of enchanting experiences, and character dining stands out as one of the most delightful ways to meet beloved Disney characters while enjoying a meal. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned Disney guest, this guide will help you navigate the joyful world of character dining.

What is Character Dining?

Character dining offers a unique dining experience where guests can enjoy a meal while being visited by Disney characters. These meals often feature themed atmospheres and provide opportunities for photos, autographs, and memorable interactions—all while eating a meal. This is an excellent way to meet a lot of characters in a short amount of time, all while avoiding regular Meet and Greet lines. Most character dining spots go fast, so make sure to book on the app at 7am EST the day you are eligible to book dining reservations!

Some of My Favorite Spots

Here are some of my favorite character dining spots at Walt Disney World:

1. Cinderella’s Royal Table

Want to dine in Cinderella’s Castle? Cinderella’s Royal Table, located in the iconic Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, offers a royal dining experience where guests can enjoy a meal while meeting beloved Disney princesses. Guests can indulge in a multi-course menu featuring American cuisine, with breakfast prices starting around $45 for adults and $29 for children, and dinner prices reaching approximately $70 for adults and $42 for children. The atmosphere is enchanting, with stunning castle décor and the opportunity to meet characters like Cinderella, Prince Charming, and other princesses during your meal. Special Tip: Make dinner reservations at around 8:30pm to be able to watch the fireworks from inside the castle! This makes the most magical moment for you and your family.

2. The Crystal Palace

Who doesn’t love having a picnic with Winnie the Pooh and his friends! The Crystal Palace, located in Magic Kingdom, offers a buffet dining experience featuring American cuisine in a beautifully airy setting adorned with Victorian-style décor and lush greenery. The restaurant’s vibrant atmosphere, complete with tropical décor and views of the resort’s lush surroundings, makes it a favorite for families seeking a taste of Aloha.

Tips for Booking Character Dining

Here’s a few tips to remember when booking your very own character dining experience. When planning for character dining at Walt Disney World, it’s essential to reserve early, ideally 60 days in advance when reservation eligibility begins, as these experiences fill up quickly. Consider meal times, as breakfasts are generally less expensive than dinners, and character interactions tend to be longer during breakfast hours. Remember to bring an autograph book for characters to sign, as this gives you a way to remember your experience forever! Lastly, plan for the overall length of the experience, as character dining can take longer than standard meals due to the interactions. Don’t forget to factor this into your schedule.

Now go meet your favorite friends!

Character dining at Walt Disney World is an experience like no other, combining Disney dining with cherished character encounters. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying a magical day, these dining experiences will create memories that last a lifetime.
